Introductory Overview:
With fervent global energy initiatives, a sustainable energy model epitomizes a company’s technological prowess and a nation’s leadership. This course offers a forward-looking overview of solar energy on the global stage and how companies can be poised to reap rewards. In a nutshell, energy is the racing game of technology and deployment in the global landscape. Solar energy is one of the critical renewable energy paths and in the necessary mix of the future energy trajectory. Photovoltaic stands on its intrinsic merit of direct conversion from sun power to electricity. This presentation will provide the background information of today’s global energy landscape and outline the driving forces, factors, challenges, obstacles, technological innovations and global initiatives in solar energy with a focus on Photovoltaics.
Another strategically important initiative is the Smart Grid system. Countries including the European Union, U.S., Canada, and China have put forth government policies to endorse smart grid programs.
A working system with the desired reliability, efficiency and safety is expected to revolutionize the electricity generation, transmission and distribution. It will also demonstrate the capability of integrating green energy electricity, as well as environmental-friendly transportation – hybrid and electric vehicles to achieve a sustainable energy model.
The presentation will highlight the role of smart grid to solar energy. Business model and technology opportunities to electronics companies in global play will also be outlined.
