Part 2Surface mount component identification
One day.
Part 3Combination, and cable labelling
Two days. Covers both identification courses, plus label preparation, the three label types, flagging and wrapping, and inspecting applied labels.

Surface Mount Component Identification
This is a combination program providing your instructor(s) with the knowledge and tools necessary to conduct both of the Blackfox Component Identification courses described in 1.0 and 2.0.
Objectives
Upon successfully completing this learning activity, instructors will be qualified to conduct Through Hole and Surface Mount Component Identification sessions. Instructors will complete all objectives identified for the Through-Hole and Surface Mount Component Identification modules.

Combination Through Hole & Surface Mount Component Identification
The purpose of this course is to provide instructors with the knowledge & materials necessary for the implementation and/or the continuing education of the workforce. Instructor candidates will receive the instructional materials necessary to qualify students in acceptable cable labeling techniques.
This course is widely recognized in the industry and will benefit learners with little or no knowledge in labeling or learners who are seeking skill enhancements.
Objectives
Upon successfully completing this learning activity, instructors will be qualified to conduct this effective competency based skill course for the workforce. Instructors will obtain and demonstrate the ability to:
- Label Preparation
- State the meaning of cable labeling
- State the reason for labeling cables
- State the consequence of mislabeling cables
- Identify and demonstrate quality checks on printed labels
- Identify three types of labels
- Given a print with labeling and instructions, the correct application of labels using the flagging and wrapping methods
- Inspect applied labels for conformance to the standards
- Identify acceptable label applications
- Successfully pass the instructors exam with a combined score of 90% or better
