Qualification and performance of rigid printed boards. IPC-6012 is the qualification and performance specification for rigid printed boards. This course covers the acceptance criteria a board has to meet before it reaches your assembly line.

CIS, CIT and CSE students all attend the entire course. Three and a half days.
CIS
An IPC issued Certified IPC Specialist credential, with a traceable certificate number recorded against your name and company.
Certification valid two years from the exam date. We send a reminder before the credential expires.
CIT
An IPC issued Certified IPC Trainer credential, which allows you to teach the standard and certify specialists inside your own company.
Certification valid two years from the exam date. Renewal requires evidence that you have taught. Let the credential lapse and your company loses the ability to certify its own specialists until it is renewed.
CSE
An IPC issued Certified Standards Expert credential for detailed knowledge of the standard itself, aimed at engineers and quality staff rather than line operators.
Certification valid two years from the exam date. Teaching and certifying others requires the Certified IPC Trainer credential instead.

Bench access and magnification provided. Best fit for one to four people.
Live online
Same instructor, same exam. Best fit for distributed teams.
At your facility
The instructor comes to you. Same assemblies and same IPC criteria, taught at your own facility, so your team doesn't travel.
This course covers qualification and performance of rigid printed boards including: single-sided, double-sided, with or without plated-through holes, multilayer with or without blind/buried vias and metal core boards. It addresses final finish and surface plating coating requirements, conductors, holes/vias, frequency of acceptance testing and quality conformance as well as electrical, mechanical and environmental requirements.
Participants must be able to read and proficiently interpret the language the class and exams are presented in. Exams are available in limited additional languages upon request. Successful passing of written and practical exams is required to attain certification. Two attempts at any exam are included in tuition paid. Additional charges will apply for more than two exam attempts.
There are no optional modules for CIS students in this course. CIS, CIT and CSE students must attend the entire course.

What a CIT receives
Note if recertifying: To be eligible for recertification, the CIT must have certified a minimum of 5 students in at least 1 class per year of certification in any of the programs the CIT is certified in.
