The IPC/WHMA-A-620 Hands-On Add-On is not a basic cable harness assembly course. This course requires that participants understand the basic concepts and materials associated with wire preparation and crimping along with some hands-on experience.
Next sessions
People who already hold the IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification and now have to build the assemblies rather than only judge them.
One to one and a half days depending on skill level. Taken alongside the IPC/WHMA-A-620 base class; the module shows as completed on the base certificate.
CIS
An IPC issued Certified IPC Specialist credential, with a traceable certificate number recorded against your name and company.
Certification valid two years from the exam date. We send a reminder before the credential expires.
CIT
An IPC issued Certified IPC Trainer credential, which allows you to teach the standard and certify specialists inside your own company.
Certification valid two years from the exam date. Renewal requires evidence that you have taught. Let the credential lapse and your company loses the ability to certify its own specialists until it is renewed.
At a center
Bench access, workmanship samples and magnification provided. Best fit for one to four people.
At your facility
The instructor comes to you. Same assemblies and same IPC criteria, taught at your own facility, so your team doesn't travel.
IPC/WHMA-A-620 is the industry standard for cable and wire harness fabrication and installation. The course aims to teach personnel how to verify the quality of work that is being done to ensure compliance and proper inspection. The objective of the course is to teach correct application of the standard, which defines acceptability criteria for crimped, mechanically secured and soldered interconnection and the corresponding lacing/restraining criteria associated with cable and harness assemblies.
The IPC/WHMA-A-620 Hands-On Add-On is not a basic cable harness assembly course. This course requires that participants understand the basic concepts and materials associated with wire preparation and crimping along with some hands-on experience. If students have not previously performed wire harness assembly activities, additional training will be necessary prior to attending this course. Blackfox recommends our applicable Wire Preparation and Crimping course for remedial study. Participants must be able to read and proficiently interpret the language the class and exams are presented in. Exams are available in limited additional languages upon request. Successful passing of written and practical exams is required to attain certification. Two attempts at any exam are included in tuition paid. Additional charges will apply for more than two exam attempts.

This IS NOT a stand-alone course. It must be completed in conjunction with the IPC/WHMA-A-620 base class. Not available for CSE level certification.
