Why Is the Spotlight Now on Lead-Free Soldering?

Nowadays, electronics equipment manufacturing companies place great importance on lead-free soldering. Truthfully, there are significant concerns as to how much lead is entering our environment. As a consequence of these matters, there has been a growing shift towards lead-free soldering, resulting from legislation in several segments of the globe. This new world trend means that companies are now searching for employees who have advanced electronic manufacturing certification.

Electronic Manufacturing Certification in Lead-Free Soldering

Due to legislation in various countries around the world, the need for more advanced lead-free soldering techniques arose. Employees with electronic manufacturing certification in a company were valued, and those without the certification often sought the advantage of training courses. The reason being, on a global scale, environmentalists endeavored to bring attention to the waste rendered from lead soldering and demanded newer, safer technological approaches.

In the end, lead-free soldering is not just about recycling. It also shines a light on banning the use of lead in specific kinds of electronic and electrical equipment. Lead soldering, which was deemed to be a threat to the environment in several countries, including the UK, was comprised of a 37% lead, 63% tin mix. Once landfills started swelling with vast amounts of electronics and the like, in most cases created with the use of lead, there was great concern that lead would seep into the underground water reserves.

Electronic Manufacturing Certification for Company Environmental Policy

Moving towards a lead-free approach to soldering is a key factor for many global companies that have environmental policies. In many areas of industry, depending upon the products manufactured, this technology can replace traditional soldering materials, thus leading towards more environmentally-friendly manufacturing capabilities.
