COURSE DESCRIPTION
IPC/WHMA-A-620 is the first industry standard for cable and wire harness fabrication and installation. This training will familiarize the student with the general requirements of the IPC/WHMA-A-620 Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Harness Assemblies and includes certifying examinations. The CIS program is modularized to allow for maximum flexibility to meet individual needs.
This course is for students who are currently certified in the IPC/WHMA-A-620 but need to renew within 6 months before expiration to keep current in the program without interruption. This course provides a thorough review of the document and updated information on policies and program requirements.
COURSE STRUCTURE
CIS students can attend all or some of the following modules, CIT and CSE will attend all:

Introduction/IPC Professional Policies and Procedures (section 1); Foreword and Applicable Documents (section 2); Cable/wire preparation (section 3); Measuring Cable Assemblies (section 11); Testing Cable Assemblies (section 19)
Module 2 – (optional for CIS)
Crimp Terminations (section 5) and Insulation Displacement Connections (section 6)
Module 3 – (optional for CIS)
Soldered Terminations (section 4)
Module 4 – (optional for CIS)
Connectorization (section 9) and Molding/Potting (section10)
Module 5 – (optional for CIS)
Ultrasonic Welding (section 7); Splices (section 8)
Module 6 – (optional for CIS)
Marking/Labeling (section 12); Wire Bundle Securing (section 14); Finished Assembly Installation (section 17)
Module 7 – (optional for CIS)
Coaxial and Biaxial Cable Assemblies (section 13)
Module 8 – (optional for CIS)
Harness/Cable Electrical Shielding (section 15) and Cable/Wire Harness Protective Coverings (section 16)
